My dad and myself went to Moe's because we wanted to treat ourselves to something new. He ordered a bacon cheese burger and I ordered the buffalo wrap we both got the french fries. We both agree that it was really good food, worth the money (reasonably priced), and the service was good. We also agree that we would and will be eating here again and I personally look forward to it.

At first glance Moe's looks like a sports bar. Though littered with TVs which can be distracting, Moe's is also home of good food and nice clean atmosphere in the dinning side. The wait staff is friendly and accurate. We regularly take our 2 year old along for dinner. I like the Crescent City Pasta the most. We also had them host a party for us. Their main banquet room was taken, but we were desperate for a location and convinced them to host us in the tent-covered deck outside, despite a looming thunderstorm. The entire evening they braved at 4 foot pouring-cats-and-dogs gap between the building and the tent and never stopped smiling.

The food is mediocre and I can prepare better at home. I am guessing it's the bar and location that keeps this place in business. The Walleye Bites were a waste of money for how expensive they were. For the 6 pieces it should have not been over $4.99. Not a single special on food, only discounts on liquor. I guess I should have known when the menu was a laminated piece of paper. I would suggest that people take a trip over to RJ Riches for breakfast and for dinner drive a little further west to PaddyWagons. I don't have any desire to go back MOE's

Stopped in on a Tuesday evening for dinner. After looking at the menu we selected: WALLEYE BITES: Freshwater walleye cut into "bite-sized" pieces, lightly battered and fried golden brown. Served with lemon wedge and tartar sauce. MOE'S SIGNATURE BURGER: Two lean patties stuffed with cheddar cheese, bacon bits and diced onions. Served on a toasted white bun with a side of BBQ. The walleye bites were very tasty and will become a regular item for me when I visit. The Signature burger (Jucy lucy) was also a winner. I felt they could use some new carpet and other cosmetic changes but I go for the food so this is not really an issue for me. On this trip our waitress was outstanding. My beverage was never empty she helped us navigate the menu making recommendations to improve our food choices.

Better than average bar food

I've been here a number of times, my favorite has always been the philly cheesesteak, joes, with the red pepper sauce. Nice selection of potato sides and they had a cheap burger special on Mondays over the summer. We went there recently with another couple for the crab leg special on a Thursday night and we were BLOWN AWAY by how fresh and perfectly cooked the crab legs were. Well done.

Stopped in for lunch with a coworker on a Monday. Moe's has a townie bar atmosphere with friendly service. Menu is typical American fare. The specials were atypical of the typical local sports bar - stuffed halibut, kale chicken salad, and creme brule. I went more traditional and ordered a burger and onion rings. The rings were very average. The burger was fresh, loaded, and delicious - it definitely hit the spot. The fries that came with the burger had a hint of garlic and we're very tasty. Our food came out fast and we were in and out within an hour.

Service and food was great. Philly cheese was one for the books. ... overcharged for the carrot cake
(4)Mary S.
Good burgers. My salad was wonderful! Save room for the carrot cake it is amazing. We sat on the deck and it was beautiful, good service, great food. It's also right next to a movie theater, so it's a perfect date night location.

5 stars, Moe's, 5 stars. Not like this is a Meritage or Travail-esque establishment, but for what you expect and what you get, this place is pretty damn good for Mounds View. Yes, Mounds View... it's a place that is a mere 15mins from Minneapolis but is considered BFE. But hey, I've been here several times and have never had one complaint. The first time we came here was for Easter brunch. We called last-min for a reso, and they were still able to accommodate us at our desired time. They had a lovely set-up of an enclosed outdoor tent full of meat carving stations and trays of heart-attack. I love these things. There was a lot of variety and I honestly enjoyed everything. And yes, they had a lot of healthy options too but that's hard for me to care about at a buffet. The second time, we showed up late after a fishing trip and the kitchen was about to close in 5mins. But they were still kind and patient and agreed to serve us with a smile. I was obviously starving so I ordered chicken fingers, and was pleasantly surprised that they were fresh and hand-breaded. That makes a huge difference to me and fellow chicken finger aficionados. And children. I highly recommend their chicken parmigiana. Hear me out. I probably sound like a basic bitch raving about chicken fingers and chicken parm, but theirs is just so good. They have a homemade marinara that tastes like a blend of marinara and a vodka alfredo sauce. Tangy, creamy, cheesy. My boyfriend was all frisky for it too. I enjoyed their bacon blue burger that was stuffed with thick porky bacon, instead of a majority of grease and fat, and they were generous with the blue cheese. Next time I need to narrow in on some steak and walleye. They often have events and specials. They are also active and responsive on Facebook. It's usually packed, but not... too packed, and they have a lively bar area. Service has always been great. I am thankful they are in my boring ass town.

Awesome service and great food. Great place to enjoy Wednesday nights with Live Minesota Music. We enjoy our visit every time.

We love this place! They greet you by your first name and treat you right. The beer is cold and the food is awesome. The wait staff and bartenders are very attentive and make you feel welcome. This is our favorite place. The nachos and the garlic house salad are our two favorites. We saw Jimmy "JJ "Walker downstairs. It was a blast.
(5)Mark T.
Even though some of my favorites have been removed from the menu, and service can be quite slow sometimes, I've never had a bad meal.
(4)Nicholas E.
Average service from the short lady at the bar with blonde hair. The food was made very quick, and was acceptable to my taste buds. Great place for a quick meal, and drink. Friendly patrons, but a lot of swearing. I rated a 4, but it should get a 3 1/2.
(4)Kristie K.
We have always had excellent food and service. Definitely one of our first picks for happy hour. Great drink specials-decent wine list and great apps!

Excellent food at a reasonable price the cheesesteak sandwich was very good and the service was excellent and kind.

Visited last night with a girlfriend. This place feels like you've been here before. The front is a neighbor hood joint. With Dustin pouring the perfect drink, taking your food order, and making you feel like you want to come back. The back is like the " nice" place in small town American. Where you go for special nights out. It was cool how they hold the two together I don't know. We had the dusted wings grasshopper legs and beef stroganoff. The wings were good, but the blue cheese dip was great. Get them for that. Loved the green beans. I don't usually like stroganoff, but this was delightful. It was rich meaty, seasoned perfectly. Really really good. One more thing the bar tender/ server was a big reason I would go back. He seemed to genuinely want us to be there, want to serve us and make our night a good one. Thanks Dustin.

Awesome Brunch! Had brunch this past Sunday. It was delicious. The Hollandaise Sauce on the Eggs Benedict was the best I have had anywhere. The cheesy hash browns were wonderful. I love a good Bloody Mary and this one was ginormous and reminded me of the Uptown. I am definitely going back.

Moe's Is it a nightclub? Is it a sports bar? Is it a concert venue? Is it a restaurant? Is it a comedy club? When I went there it was a restaurant. Kind of quiet on a Saturday Afternoon. They offer sandwiches and some more involved entrees - the special was grouper. I had a "Mayslack's Original" I am not sure how that ties out with the real Mayslacks, but I enjoyed it. I actually thought it was quite a bit better than the sandwich I had at my last visit to Mayslacks. My wife's fish and chips didn't receive the same accolades. She was not impressed. Service was prompt and friendly - that always is nice to see.

We stopped in to Moe's after a movie. After walking though a crowd of smokers to get in the door, we had to walk down a hall that was crowded with bar overflow. When we finally made it to the dining room, there were about 6-7 tables occupied. We were seated in a timely manner. After watching 3 staff, another server, a server from the kitchen and what appeared to be the GM walk around and watch the hockey game for about 4 minutes while I am waiting to be greeted to be able to order drinks, we cut our losses early and left right away. Unfortunately this is similar to what we experience before(about a year ago) when the GM comp'd us a round of drinks because the waiting was ridiculously long.

The Mustang Nacho's were very good, a little light on the cheese. My house salad was brown. I would have told the manager about it IF he ever came to our table. He was much more concerned about watching the televisions around the restaurant (apparently a good basketball game was on). I maybe could have even excused his absence if the place was busy, but considering we were one of three tables, he was hardly busy. Our server ran around like he was SUPER busy too - he asked how the food was, but left the table before we could even respond. He did come back a few minutes later to clear the plates from the table THAT WE WERE STILL EATING FROM! I guess he figured we were done. Again, would have said something but he did the Grab and Dash. If you're looking for quality service, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for good nachos - get them to go!

Went here for dinner on a monday. 5 people in the whole place. Still stood in the bar for quite some time before being recognized and told "a host will seat you". Really? Okay, i guess ill just wait for them. Our table had no less that 5 fruit flies accompanying us. Turns out the owner of Moes "owns the recipe" to mayslacks roast beef. There are several references to it on the menu. I passed. I went for the patty melt. $13. 13.5 for a regular burger. 6.25 for a pint of bells.4.75 for a rail whiskey. Nutshell......damn you are expensive. Food was good. Nothing to warrant premium prices though. Prolly wont be back.
(3)Trevor N.
Nachos were very good. The service was very friendly. The food seems to be centered more around meat so if you are a health nut you might want to shy away. Ample selection of on tap beer. We sat on the patio and it was lovely.

Moe's accommodated my church group downstairs. It's a bit dark when you first walk in but your eyes adjust. Brunch was had by all. Til 2 on Saturday and Sunday. I had the burger and eggs with homemade cheesy hashbrowns. I was a member of the clean plate group. The club sandwiches and omelettes also got high marks. If you're a fan of the bloody, it's like a meal in a tall glass. I heard it was great too.
(4)Chad C.
Great Bloody Mary and fantastic Sunday brunch. ...a little heavy on price, but they backed it up with the food!
(4)Danielle S.
This place surprises me every time I go! I don't love the restaurant set-up, but from what I've experienced, the food doesn't compare. Also, their pulled pork sandwich was the greatest I've ever had! I'd highly recommend that and their sweet potato fries!
(4)Sheila H.
There are too many bad things going on here to honestly even say it is even ok. Our 2nd try will be the last. Services are slow and subpar at best. Food very disappointing. soggy undercooked french fries are a good example of the most basic problems. Long wait for bad food.
(2)Angie S.
Not a fan. This places has changed so many times since I was a kid. This us a similar American bar restaurant. The place was slow for dinner, but so was the service! I didn't see anything in the menu I thought even sounded good, so I ate some of my cousins mozzarella sticks. This place got one star since my grandma enjoyed her side salad meal! Only swing by here for drinks after a softball game or something.

The broiled walleye was amazing! Minnesota fresh fish cooked and seasoned to perfection. Fish does NOT get any better than this. The meat loaf was very good and the portion was more than we could handle. Left overs for lunch tomorrow! Also, the kids meals were good, home-cooked fares as well, complete with fresh baked cookies for desert. Service was great, atmosphere was okay. This place is about 65% restaurant and 35% bar. At least 6 HD TVs playing multiple sports games. A classic, down-home Northern Minnesota style restaurant.

My 3 year old was demanding pancakes so after touring the packed parking lot of neighboring Perkins and R J Riches we opted for Moe's, which I had been to before and liked. However the near-deserted lot should have been a warning. Don't get me wrong, the food is really tasty. It's just inconsistent in portion (my husband paid $8 for a tiny portion of Eggs Benedict, while my $6 skillet was too big to eat) and the service was awful. The waiters on duty kept rushing around as if there were hundreds of people there (there weren't; remember the empty parking lot) and we could hardly get the attention of our waiter to get the bill. Plus he deceived us into buying a 2nd orange juice by a flippant "can I get you some more orange juice?" in such a way we both thought it was free. Nope. Like I said, the food is good, but the service left a bad taste in our mouths.

I have been going to Moe's with my wife since they opened as Moe's. Formerly Jakes I think. For the money the food is great. The burgers, walleye and pasta are excellent as is Mayslack's sandwich. The beer is ice cold and have never had bad service. Great neighborhood joint that isn't just another Applebee's/Chilis. Btw, the fries are incredible!

We live near Moe's in a northern suburb so devoid of good restaurants that we have visited here well over 10 times... because we really really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, our marathon of goodwill ends tonight. Our food, as usual, took forever to arrive. When it did, the chicken on my salad was ice cold. Since it didn't come with any bread, I ordered a "side" of bread for 50 cents. It was an oversized crouton....a dried out crouton. However, my nearly frozen chicken and dehydrated bread morsel wasn't the crime of our evening. The bread on my husband's walleye sandwich had been nuked to concrete. My husband called the manager over, who never apologized nor offered to comp the sandwich simply said, with some venom in his tone, "That is wrong and I am going to talk to my chef." We then watched him seem to plow angrily towards the kitchen. Inappropriate. Not cool. Not professional. When we asked the waitress for our bill, my husband said he would not pay for my bread, and I asked if my husband's sandwich (it was not a sandwich as it came with no edible bread) had been comped, and she assured us it was. When we looked at our bill, we had been given a $5.00 credit. Our server said she had "missed" it and would again go talk to the manager. She then came back and talked about how we should check our credit card to make sure the comp showed up.....however, if she didn't run it with the wrong price....why should we have to check? The whole ordeal was ridiculous and suspicious. In the past, we were served raw chicken wings.....and that time the manager had also been useless.....spewing blab about how the owner wanted this restaurant to be a fine dining steak house anyway....and not a burger wing joint. And another time, since they do have good spaghetti and meatballs, my husband asked if they could make him a meatball sandwich and he was refused. Ultimately, I completely agree with the other reviewer......what is the vision for this place? And until they can figure that out, they best begin by getting a decent manager who knows how to professionally and efficiently run a restaurant that meets all quality and service expectations of its patrons.

Pretty solid option for a sports bar. Stopped in with some friends on a Saturday night for a few drinks and some food. The bar was full so we sat in the dining room. We were seated by the fireplace. Nice and warm at first, but it was really hot by the time we left. We started with some deep fried green beans. Those were great. I really liked the coating and the sauce that accompanied the beans. I hate to say it, but they were better than the beans at the Blue Door. I ordered the Mayslack's beef sandwich. That was very good. Nice beef flavor and enough throughout the entire sandwich. The rest of the group enjoyed their meals too. Our server was pretty good, mostly attentive. She left just was we finished and asked of we could close out and we did. Sometimes I think it's a little tacky to ask people to close out, but I did not mind since she was a good server. The server that replaced her was a little flighty and weird. We did not stay very long after that. I did not have high expectations for this place, but it ended up pretty well. I would come back.
(3)Angela S.
A huge disappointment to say the least. The entire meal was a comedy of errors. First, she forgot our salad and served it with our meal after we reminded her. I ordered the coconut crusted mahi mahi. It was bad. The crust was slightly burned and the fish was overcooked. It comes with wild rice that was cold and undercooked. My boyfriend got the ribs with jo jo's. Except when he got his meal they put regular fries on instead of the jo jos. The fries were cold and the ribs were below average. She brought out the jo jos right at the end of our meal and they were severely overcooked. The server apologized, but I feel like mistakes as big as forgetting the salad before the meal and bringing the side at the end of the meal deserved some sort of compensation but we were not offered anything. The only time I can see us coming back in would be to have a drink and MAYBE an appetizer before heading to a movie next door.

The service was lacking in friendliness.... Our server was a bit snotty at times... The menu had the hopes of a good dinning experience, however failed to deliver... The menu made me wonder if the management had watched too many Kitchen Nightmares and were trying to pull off amazing dishes that are out of their kitchen staff's realm... The stuffed bacon bleu buger was very overdone on the outside leaving the center the same, the bleu cheese was almost chemical tasting.... The beef in the stroganoff was very much like incredibly dry jerky nuggets... I have had better beef in Denty Moore stew... Moe's does not have a great selection of beers... When I attempted to order a Blue Moon (common), the server snapped at me they don't have Blue Moon and instructed me to look at the menu rather than offering any suggestions... I have visited the bar many times and enjoyed the atmosphere, too bad the dinning experience was not the same... I will only return to drink domestic beer with friends and not eat the sub par food.... Sad time...

Hey, another garden variety sports bar. These seem to be all over Minnesota. Anyways, a normal selection of beers on tap. Popcorn machine available for everyone, although extremely salty in an effort to get you to buy more beers. Pull tab girl was very talkative, and I was exposed to my first gambling here in Minnesota, so yay for me. I came late, left early, and didn't miss much. Neither will you.
(3)Marlye R.
The steakadillo appetizer was great! However, my husband's Reuben was so-so and the walleye tacos I ordered were tasteless. The shell was so wimpy that it fell apart even before taking it out of the holder. I had to dump out the ingredients and eat them with a fork. Certainly, not worth the money. Maybe other dinner choices are much better. We just were not impressed with our choices. Also, our dinner came before we were done with our steakadillos, making our French fries cool off before we were ready to eat them.

Good food but beer is expensive.
